How to join
Below are some sites to get you started, each of these has a range of affiliate schemes for you to join for free and get started with your website.
More information
Most of this information and much more is available at the affiliate scheme sites listed above, but here's a bit more information on how it all works.
Affiliate Linking Examples
All of the affiliate sites will provide examples of how to link to their sites which you can simply cut and paste into your website.
Deep Linking
If your really serious about affiliate marketing then we suggest that you deep link products within your website. With deep linking you could advertise specific products or even groups of products on your site. To do this you just need to alter the affiliate linking code so that when your visitor clicks on the link they are taken to the precise page on the merchants site where they can buy the product.
CSV Product files
Some merchants are able to offer affiliates csv files for them to upload direct to a database, if you intend to offer many products on your website then a data base approach may be more effecient but timecomsuming and technically more difficult to setup.
Getting Paid
This is what its all about afterall. When you join an affiliate scheme they will usually ask your preferred method of payment which could be by cheque or direct payment to your bank via BACS. Generally there will be a minimum amount of comission that you must earn before they will make a payment (£ 25 is not untypical).
